Karen Christian ’01 was one of six Capitol Hill lawyers featured in a write-up that appeared in The National Law Journal about the attorneys working behind the scenes on health care legislation efforts and the American Health Care Act. Christian serves as general counsel for the U.S. House of Representative’s Committee on Energy and Commerce.

According to the article, Christian started her career on Capitol Hill as counsel to the Committee on House Administration. She would later join the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, where she held multiple positions over the course of nine years.

Prior to that she clerked for a federal district judge in Washington, D.C., before going on to spend several years as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
