Samantha Zandman
Samantha manages public service programs at Moritz, including the annual Public Sector Interview Program, the Moritz Public Service Fellows Program, and student career and professional development programming. She helps student self-assess their interests and career goals, and counsels students on career planning, strategy, and job searches in both the public and private sectors. She also collaborates with the Advancement team to develop systems to award and administer public service summer and post-graduate fellowships, including identifying potential employer host sites and managing the awards selection committee.
Samantha joined Moritz after spending almost five years in the Career Development Office at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, most recently as their Assistant Director of Public Service Opportunities. She has experience working in both the public and private legal sectors, and has advised law students and alumni on public and private sector career paths. She has found her passion helping future lawyers strategize and reach their career goals. She is a member of the Colorado State Bar and the National Association of Law Placement (NALP). She has presented as a speaker at the NALP Annual Education Conference and serves on committees. Prior to entering higher education, Sam practiced family law in Denver, served as a volunteer attorney for a local non-profit, and was on the Board of Directors of several non-profits. Sam is a Cleveland native and 4th generation Buckeye, graduating from Ohio State with her B.A. in English, magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Sam went to law school as a public-service minded student at University of Akron School of Law, and graduated 11th in her class, magna cum laude. She taught for the Law & Leadership Institute, and worked at the Barberton Prosecutor’s Office and the Denver City Attorney’s Office. She was also an Assistant Editor for Akron Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society Family Law Competition Team, an academic tutor, and President of the Student Bar Association. While Sam misses the mountains after almost a decade in Colorado, she is excited to be home in Ohio supporting future generations of public service lawyers. In her free time, Sam enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter Hannah, and dog Astro, as well as hiking and reading a good mystery fiction book.
