Law School Transcript Requests

Current and former Moritz College of Law students may obtain two types of transcripts: official and unofficial.  Beginning on August 1, 2018, Moritz College of Law students will be able to obtain official transcripts through the University Registrar.  Your past Moritz fees include the cost of the transcript.  Thus, there is no fee for this service.

If you are unsure of what kind of transcript you need, please see the descriptions below of both unofficial and official transcripts. If you are still uncertain of what kind of transcript you require after reading the descriptions, please contact the requesting party and ask if they prefer an official or unofficial transcript.

Please make sure to read over the descriptions of each type of transcript, as to ensure that you are requesting the correct one. Requesting the incorrect format of your transcript will delay the processing of your transcript request.

Please note that transcript requests made over the weekend or university recognized holidays will not be processed until the next business day.

Official transcripts  contain the University Registrar’s signature and a college seal. They are also printed on watermarked paper.

Unofficial transcripts  are printed on plain paper and do not contain signatures or stamps.

Unofficial Transcript Requests – Moritz College of Law

The Moritz College of Law can provide you with an unofficial transcript in various ways once it is requested. This includes:

Mail: Your unofficial transcript can be forwarded to the mailing address on record with the university. If you want an unofficial transcript delivered to a mailing address that is not present in our records, you will be contacted for verification purposes.

Pick-up: You can pick up your unofficial transcript at the Registrar’s Office, Drinko Hall Room 122.

Electronically: Unofficial transcripts can be forwarded to you via email. Your unofficial electronic transcript request must meet one of two criterias in order to be processed successfully and without delay. The criterias are as follows:

  1. Your request is submitted with an official OSU email address. This is the fastest way for your request to be processed so it is heavily encouraged for you to use an official OSU email address if you have access to one. Please note that if you enter an email address linked to an official OSU email address, such as a Gmail, it will result in the same verification process listed in criteria 2.
  2. Your request is submitted with an email address not associated with OSU. In this instance, you’ll be prompted for a verification process via email. This is a relatively short process, requiring you to answer 3/5 questions correctly. Once your request is verified, the unofficial transcript request will be processed.
