Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution Gives its Annual Awards and Announces New Editorial Board

Rachel Wenning is the new Editor-in-Chief for the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution (JDR). A graduate of The Ohio State University in 2005 and a native of Dayton, Ohio, Rachel is excited to have started working on next year’s journal. As a 2L, Rachel was a staff representative for JDR. Her interests in law school center on Tax Law and Estate Planning and she has also been an active member of the Asian/Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA).

Of her colleagues and faculty advisers on the journal, Rachel says, We have talented journal members who will be providing a creative addition to the journal next year through their Notes and their contributions on the editorial board. I'm looking forward to working with Professors Sarah Cole and Nancy Rogers to produce journal issues full of interesting and relevant articles.

Joining Rachel at the top of the masthead are Executive Editor Naila Awan and Chief Managing Editor Andrew McCarthy.

The journal also handed out its annual awards at a recent banquet. This year, Rachel Butt was the recipient of the Lesley Lucas Memorial Award, which is given to the third year student who goes above and beyond the call of their position in service to JDR.

The Past Editor's Significant and Lasting Contribution to JDR Award went to both Amanda Fried and Erin Butcher-Lyden. This award goes to a third-year member of JDR who, through their work in the past year, makes a positive impact that will benefit future staff members for years to come.

The Past Editor's Award for Outstanding Third Year Member went to Drew Laframboise, and the Past Editor's Award for Outstanding Staff Member was awarded to Naila Awan.

JDR also gave an award to Ellen Deason to recognize the work that she has done as an advisor to the journal.
