Program on Data and Governance Receives New Funding, National Recognition
The Program on Data and Governance (PDG) recently received a $50,000 Accelerator grant through the President’s Research Excellence (PRE) program at Ohio State. PRE Accelerator grants are given to “small teams formed to pursue curiosity-driven, novel, high-risk and high-reward research.” In partnership with Professor Aravind Chandrasekaran of Fisher College of Business, the team will examine the impact of responsible AI management (RAIM) practices on organizational performance. The grant allows for further discovery and research around a finding in PDG’s recent study that suggests RAIM yields business value for organizations.
Additionally, PDG’s report on how the Ohio Courts use algorithmic risk assessments received an honorable mention in the national Privacy Papers for Policymakers competition. The competition will distribute the selected papers to several U.S. and international policymakers.
