Martha Chamallas, Professor and the Robert J. Lynn Chair in Law, has been named one of two 2021 Distinguished University Professors, the highest faculty award bestowed by The Ohio State University.
Chamallas has been teaching law for 45 years and joined the Moritz College of Law faculty in 2002. Since then, she has earned the University Distinguished Scholar Award (2013) and the University Distinguished Lecturer Award (2006). Currently, Chamallas teaches Torts, Employment Discrimination, Employment Law, Feminist Legal Theory, Gender and the Law and Seminar on Workplace Bias.
2021 marks the second time in three years that a Moritz faculty member has been named a Distinguished University Professor after Professor Deborah Jones Merritt earned the honor in 2019.
Chamallas graduated top of her class from Louisiana State Law School in 1975 and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in 1971.
