Professor Daniel Chow Elected to American Law Institute

Daniel Chow, the Frank E. & Virginia H. Bazler Chair in Business Law, is one of the newly elected members of the American Law Institue (ALI). This prestigious honor recognizes his excellence in the law, high character, and commitment to ALI’s mission of clarifying, modernizing, and improving the law. 

ALI’s membership is limited to 3,000 elected members comprised of lawyers, academics, and judges. Ohio State Law has a strong representation with nearly one dozen faculty and numerous alums.  

“I am pleased and honored to join the other members of the Moritz faculty in being elected to ALI and look forward to working with the members of ALI on new and exciting law projects in my fields of expertise,” Chow said.  

Chow joined the faculty of the College in 1985. He teaches and writes in the areas of international trade law, international business transactions, international intellectual property, and the law of China. An accomplished scholar, Chow has published numerous books and articles, including leading casebooks in International Business Transactions, International Trade Law, and International Intellectual Property.
