October 7, 2016
“Would You Share a Few Words? Preparing Short Talks Lawyers are Called to Make,” will be presented by premier communications consultant Ruth Milligan, from 1-4 p.m., Friday, October 7, in Drinko 349. Ms. Milligan will use the format of a TED talk to illustrate what makes a compelling talk, how to draw in a listener, and the best way to make a few salient points. She will highlight the process of developing an interesting, short talk.
Lawyer-leaders are frequently asked to say a few words; sometimes there is an opportunity to prepare, and at other times, the comments are off-the-cuff. This workshop will help build a speaker’s confidence in delivering a message that is easily understood, and memorable.
