Conversation with Ben Mizer, Jones Day Partner; Former Solicitor General of Ohio; LGBT Advocate

“Ben Mizer, who currently is a partner at Jones Day, continues to lead an aspiring career focused both on the public and private sectors. Before joining Jones Day, Mr. Mizer served as the Solicitor General of Ohio, followed by fulfilling the role of Acting Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Justice Department’s Civil Division. While at the DOJ, Mr. Mizer oversaw litigation including, but not limited to, immigration, national security and food and drug law and advised the White House, Attorney General and other agencies on such matters. He has been recognized for his commendable work by the Justice Department and the National LGBT Bar Association. Prior to working in the public sector, Mr. Mizer attended the University of Michigan law school and clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
