1. Attorney in the Public and Non-Profit Sector Award Recipient:
Sarah Biehl – Ohio Poverty Law Center
Sarah Biehl, a graduate of Michael E. Moritz College of Law, was selected as the Attorney in the Public and Non-Profit Sector honoree for her work as an advocate for the educational rights of low-income children and families. As a core group member of the Dignity in Schools Campaign, she is committed to affecting systematic change in the educational system and is co-authoring an education model code for schools to use nationwide to ensure children can get the best possible education. 2. Attorney in the Private Sector Award Recipient:
Carl D. Smallwood – Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP
Carl D. Smallwood, a graduate of Michael E. Moritz College of Law, was selected as the Attorney in the Private Sector honoree for his work as President of the Law and Leadership Institute. The Law and Leadership Institute is a program which prepares students from underserved communities for post-secondary and professional success through a comprehensive four-year academic program which focuses on analytical thinking, problem solving, writing, professionalism, law and leadership.
