Biography

Nancy Rogers is a Professor Emerita at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.  She also serves on the executive committee of the College’s Divided Community Project. Since she first joined the Moritz faculty, she has served as Ohio Attorney General, Dean of the Moritz College of Law, Vice Provost for Academic Administration of The Ohio State University, Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for Moritz. Prior to joining the faculty, she was a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Thomas D. Lambros in Cleveland and practiced in the Glenville-area office of the Cleveland Legal Aid Society. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas and Yale Law School.

She teaches and writes primarily in the dispute resolution area and is the co-author of three law school textbooks in that field as well as a legal treatise on mediation. She served as President of the Association of American Law Schools; on the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation; and as a commissioner on the National Conference of Commissioners of Uniform State Laws. She has received awards for lifetime contributions to the dispute resolution field from the American Bar Association Section on Dispute Resolution, the American Arbitration Association, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, and the International Academy of Mediators and national awards from dispute resolution organizations for two books and an article. For contributions to the bar, she was honored with the Ohio State Bar Association’s Ohio Bar Medal; the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Ritter Award; the Columbus Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award; the Ohio Women Bar Association’s Government in Action Award, and the Columbus Bar Foundation’s President’s Award.
