New Edition of the Bluebook

The new 19th Edition of the Bluebook was released in May. The most significant changes appear to be changes made to Rule 18 to allow increased citation to electronic sources. The Pace University Law Library has created a nice one-page guide that describes all of the signficant changes made by the 19th Edition.

Elena Kagan Nomination Resources

President Obama has nominated Solicitor General and former Harvard Law School Dean Elena Kagan to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. Good resource pages about the nomination are available at the Harvard University Law School Library, the Georgetown Law Library, the University of Michigan Law Library, and the Law Library of Congress. Video highlights of General Kagan's confirmation hearing are available at the C-SPAN website and through the Senate Judiciary Committee website. Making of Modern Law: Primary Sources, 1620-1926

The Library has recently subscribed to the Making of Modern Law: Primary Sources, 1620-1926, collection from Gale. The Primary Sources database contains approximately 1,350 works, including primary sources such as early U.S. state codes, city charters, constitutional conventions and compilations, and other documents. The database can be browsed or searched full-text. Primary Sources can be accessed anywhere on-campus or off-campus with proper authentication.

"Greatest" Law Review Articles Ever Written

Gerald F. Uelmen, law professor and former dean at Santa Clara law school, has compiled a list of the "Greatest" Law Review Articles Ever Written. The humorous top ten list is a sidebar to Professor Uelmen's article, The Wit, Wisdom, and Worthlessness of Law Reviews, appearing in California Lawyer Magazine. Appearing at the top of the list, The Jurisprudence of Yogi Berra, 46 Emory L. J. 697 (1997).

Top 10 Free Microsoft Programs

Microsoft is not a company that most people associate with free software. However, the the folks at SaveDelete have identified the Top 10 Free Microsoft Products worth checking out.
