Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Mentor Program Info Session
The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) would like to invite you to join a zoom call on Tuesday, October 5 at 4:15 p.m. to learn more about LCLD’s unique mentoring program for first-year students. The program pairs diverse first-year students wi th practicing attorneys for a one-on-one yearlong mentoring experience. Additionally, the program offers the opportunity to participate in group mentoring programming, which will largely be virtual this year.
Participation in the program provides some of the following benefits to students:
One-on-one Networking Opportunity -Students will be provided the opportunity to network with an attorney. Most attorneys say that networking is key to relationship building and success in the legal field. At a time where meaningful one-on-one networking has become more difficult due to the impacts of COVID, this program provides an excellent opportunity to grow those connections without necessarily having to participate in programming that is in person.
Group Networking and Skill Building Opportunities - The group mentoring portion of the program will expand students’ networking opportunities with other attorneys and students. In addition, group mentoring events can cover a variety of topics such as writing skills, interviewing skills, professionalism, practice area choice, etc.
To learn more, attend the October 5 Zoom call. In addition, please feel free to reach out to Christina Wieg (cwieg@fbtlaw.com) or Zack Stillings (zstillings@fbtlaw.com) with any additional questions.
