John B. Quigley
John Quigley is the President’s Club Professor in Law Emeritus. He teaches International Law and Comparative Law.
Professor Quigley is active in international human rights work. His numerous publications include books and articles on human rights, the United Nations, war and peace, east European law, African law, and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Professor Quigley has provided legal consultation to governments across the world, including Mexico and Germany, as well as to the United Nations and the International Criminal Court. In addition, he has made numerous presentations to the United Nations
Before joining the Ohio State faculty in 1969, Professor Quigley was a research scholar at Moscow State University, and a research associate in comparative law at Harvard Law School. At Ohio State, he also taught classes in the Department of Political Science and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures.
In 1995, Professor Quigley was recipient of The Ohio State University Distinguished Scholar Award. He received the Outstanding Academic Title award from the American Library Association for his book, Foreigners on America’s Death Rows, in 2018.
