Will Clinic for Law Students – Feb. 5

Student Legal Services (SLS) will be conducting a WILL CLINIC just for College of Law students on Tuesday, February 5th, 2019, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, in the Moritz Public Service Law Center. SLS can also draft advance directives and/or healthcare power of attorney for you.

Who should have a will? Everyone! A will is a written declaration of how you want your property to be distributed after your death. If you don’t have a will, state law will govern what happens to your property, which may be different than what you would choose.

Have a spouse or significant other? Children? You absolutely must have a will.

What about my spouse/partner? Generally, SLS cannot provide services for non-students. However, if your spouse/partner would also like a will and/or advance directives, SLS can provide these services as a courtesy to you, as long as you are eligible for SLS services and are having SLS draft your documents.

Who is eligible for SLS services? Full and part-time Ohio state students are eligible for service if they attend Columbus main campus, are in a degree seeking program, not considered an employee of the University (it’s generally okay if you’re a student staff), and take at least one non-distance learning course. Also, you must not have opted-out of the SLS program in Buckeyelink.

Want to participate but not sure if you’re eligible for services? Just email or call and ask if you’re eligible: studentlegal@osu.edu or 614.247.5853.

What if I want a will but cannot attend the will clinic? No problem. Make an appointment at http://studentlegal.osu.edu or call 614.247.5853 to meet with an attorney at SLS’s office at 20 E. 11th Avenue.
