Implementing Issue 2: Adult-Use Marijuana Reforms and Future Challenges
One year after the legalization of adult-use of cannabis has gone into effect, the adult-use cannabis program is starting to gather speed, with dual use dispensaries opening their doors in August and recording robust sales. Yet, much remains to be done to implement the ballot initiative’s social equity provisions and other components. And, with many statutory reform proposals introduced, whether and when the Ohio General Assembly might enact changes to existing statutes adds uncertainty to the landscape.
On December 4th, 2024, the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center hosted a panel of experts as they discussed developments in adult-use cannabis implementation to date, and potential challenges in the future.
