Dean States is the Assistant Dean for Admissions, Financial Aid, and Diversity Initiatives at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law since August 2015. Prior to coming to Moritz, he was the Assistant Dean for Admissions at the University of North Carolina School of Law from August 2004 to August 2015. He is currently a member of the Law School Admissions Council’s Test Development and Research Committee has served on its Board of Trustees. He has served on the planning group for the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) Annual Meeting and Educational Conference and in 2013 served as the Conference Chair. He is a frequent presenter for LSAC’s Diversity Admission Panels. He has served as the President of the Midwest Alliance of Law School Admissions (MALSA), and is a past Chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Pre-Legal Education and Admission to Law School. He serves as a consultant and principal presenter for the Council for Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO), Achieving Success in the Admission Process program.
