Professor Rose is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif and was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review at Case Western Reserve. Following graduation from law school he joined the Columbus law firm of Porter, Stanley, Treffinger, and Platt (now Porter, Wright, Morris, and Arthur) and later, while on a year’s leave from Ohio State, served as Staff Assistant to the Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C.

Professor Rose is an expert on the law of federal taxation. He taught the basic income tax course; Corporate Taxation; Deferred Compensation; and Taxation of Gifts, Trusts, and Estates.

He has published three books on federal income taxation and a widely-used volume of selected federal taxation statutes and regulations. Professor Rose is the Editor of the Ohio Will Manual Service, a member of the American Law Institute, and an Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has been visiting professor at Case Western Reserve University, the University of Florida, the University of Texas, and the University of Minnesota.
