I started as a public defender in Cleveland where I represented indigent defendants in felony trials and on appeal. I worked as public defender in New Hampshire where I was in charge of the Manchester Public Defender’s Office. After two years in private practice in New Hampshire I moved to Buffalo NY. For ten years, I served as a bureau chief in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. In 1997 I was appointed to be the Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court of Ohio. There I supervised 10 lawyers and handled my own caseload. After my fourth 4-year appointment as Disciplinary Counsel, I re-entered private practice. My practice is focused on professional responsibilities issues for lawyers and judges. This includes defense of disciplinary matters, providing expert consultations and testimony and assisting applicants to the bar.
