Dan D. Sandman served as General Counsel and Secretary of Marathon Oil Company from 1986 to 1993 when he was elected to be General Counsel and Secretary of USX Corporation in Pittsburgh.  Upon the spin-off of Marathon Oil Company from USX Corporation in 2002, he was named Vice Chairman and Chief Legal & Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of United States Steel Corporation, with additional responsibilities for human resources, public affairs, and government and environmental affairs.  He currently sits on the board of MPLX, LLC., a publicly traded master limited partnership formed by Marathon Petroleum Corporation, which is engaged in the operation of pipeline and midstream assets, and CCR Coal Resources LP, a publicly traded Master Limited Partnership formed by Consolidated Coal, which is engaged in coal mining, processing and sales. He has also mediated commercial cases pending in Federal Courts.
