Benton Bodamer is a Member in the Columbus, Ohio office of international law firm Dickinson Wright. He has represented a wide range of public and private companies, as well as many of the leading international private equity sponsors. Benton regularly advises clients on complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, minority investments, divestitures, and restructurings.
Prior to his legal career, Benton studied archaeology at Harvard College and the University of Cambridge where his research focused on the role of hallucinogenic toads in Mesoamerican shamanic ritual and the use of archaeological remains in modern pharmaceutical drug discovery. His ongoing academic interests include understanding the development of legal frameworks for regulating human consciousness, and the tension between entrepreneurial ideas and legislative agendas.
