The question of how to achieve AI’s many benefits, while mitigating its risks, is critical. The Data Points: Ideas on Data, Law, and Society Lecture Series brings this conversation to Central Ohio and, through live streaming, to the world. Held three times annually at the OSU Moritz College of Law since 2016, Data Points hosts national thought leaders who engage the audience on the most pressing issues at the intersection of AI, law, and society.
Recent topics have included “Art and AI: Artists at the crossroads of cultural, social and technological change,” “The crisis in reproductive health post-Roe,” “Global AI Policy and Regulation,” and “Racial Bias in Algorithms.” With an average audience of over 100 faculty, students, attorneys, business executives, technologists and policy makers, the Data Points Lecture Series is enhancing public understanding of how best to govern AI to realize its many benefits while mitigating its significant risks.
