The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law awards full and partial three-year scholarships to incoming high achieving JD candidates who have demonstrated capacity for leadership.
Scholarship decisions are made by the Admissions Committee through the regular admissions process. While there is no application required for consideration for this scholarship, applicants to the law school may submit a brief essay, of no more than 250 words, that describes their leadership capabilities or interests.
Leadership Scholars are encouraged to participate in the Program on Law and Leadership and to take the College’s pioneering Lawyers as Leaders course. In addition, Moritz offers numerous other opportunities for scholarship students to be active as leaders well before graduation. The confluence of the Leadership Scholars’ potential and Moritz resources creates the ideal environment for serious leaders. At graduation, one or two students who have made substantial leadership contributions to the College of Law are honored with an award.
