Nancy H. Rogers Prize in Dispute Resolution Scholarship

This prize was created in 1999 by an anonymous donor, with the stipulation that it be named in honor of Nancy H. Rogers, who, at that time, was the Joseph S. Platt-Porter Wright Morris & Arthur Professor of Law and Director of the Program on Dispute Resolution.

Each year, the award recognizes two students who, in the judgment of a committee of faculty members who teach dispute resolution, wrote research papers on a dispute resolution topic that, in the donor’s language, “reflect the analytical rigor and intellectual breadth associated with highly-regarded scholarly contributions.”

Achievements at the National Level

• 2026: Kelly Adams and Ethan Bower advanced to the ABA National Negotiation Competition in Chicago. There, they achieved the top score out of 28 teams in the preliminary rounds. They ultimately made it all the way to the competition's final four out of more than 150 teams.
• 2025: Kyle Coleman and Lee Liu were selected to attend the Diverse Student ADR Summit at the American Arbitration Association in New York City in November 2025.  They each received a $1,300 scholarship provided by the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution Foundation to cover travel and hotel expenses.
