Opinion Pieces

Edward B. Foley, Director of Election Law at Ohio State, remains an active contributor to major media outlets and online publications. From October 2020 to August 2023, he served as a contributing opinion columnist for The Washington Post, authoring more than two dozen opinion pieces. His work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Politico, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, Lawfare, Harvard Law Review Blog, The Hill, the New York Daily News and other outlets.

Foley was interviewed about the Electoral Count Act for The New Yorker in June 2022 and was featured in The Washington Post Magazine in October 2020.

Free and Fair with Franita and Foley

In February 2020, Election law scholars Edward Foley (The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law) and Franita Tolson (USC Gould School of Law) launched their podcast, Free and Fair with Franita and Foley, where they break down complex legal issues for listeners who care about democracy and elections.
