Carter Phillips is one of the country's most prominent and experienced attorneys. A partner with the global law firm Sidley Austin, Phillips is the immediate former chair of Sidley's Executive Committee and was managing partner of its D.C. office for several years. He has more oral arguments (81) before the U.S. Supreme Court than any other attorney in private practice, plus several more (9) from his time in government as an Assistant to the U.S. Solicitor General.
