Erin Moriarty Announced as 2026 Hooding Ceremony Speaker
Moritz College of Law is honored to announce that Erin Moriarty will address this year’s graduating class at the 2026 Hooding Ceremony.
A 1977 graduate of the College of Law, Moriarty is a renowned for her work as a journalist. She is a contributor for CBS Sunday Mornings and 48 Hours and hosts the podcast My Life of Crime with Erin Moriarty. Over the course of her career, Moriarty’s work helped lead to the release of 12 wrongfully convicted individuals. Additionally, she has won nine Emmys, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, and the 2025 Alumni Medalist Award from The Ohio State University.
“It’s always a joy when I return to Moritz, but this year is special,” said Moriarty. “As more Americans recognize the importance of the rule of law and those who uphold it, it’s a privilege to speak to the latest law school’s graduates as they embark upon their new careers.”
