Columbus, Ohio – Divided Community Project director Grande Lum, Associate Director William Froehlich and several steering committee members are scheduled to speak at series of events across the country this spring.
In Mill Valley, CA, Director Grande Lum will present a keynote address titled “Turning Division into Action” at the Municipal Management Association of Northern California Winter Forum on March 17, 2017. Thanks to Sarah Rubin for arranging this event.
On April 11, 2017 at the Government Social Media Conference & Expo in Dallas, Director Grande Lum will deliver a keynote address unveiling the Divided Community Project’s forthcoming report focused on the intersection of community division and social media. Following the keynote, Director Lum will join Associate Director William Froehlich in a break-out session discussing the details of the social media report.
In San Francisco at the ABA Section on Dispute Resolution’s Annual Spring Conference several Divided Community Project leaders will discuss the project. On Thursday April 20, 2017, Grande Lum and William Froehlich join Divided Community Project steering committee member Sarah Rubin, Mitchell Hamline Law Professor Sharon Press, Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center Director Michelle Vilchez and City of Austin, Texas, Community Engagement Consultant Larry Schooler on a panel titled “Building Trust and Resilience in Divided Communities”. On Friday April 21, 2017, Grande Lum joins JAMS Foundation Managing Director David Brandon, National Association for Community Mediation President D.G. Mawn, and Chief Executive Officer of the New York Peace Institute Brad Heckman on a panel titled “Black and Blue: Healing the Divide in Police-Community Relations.”
