Speaker Bio:
Donna C. Saadati-Soto is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School. During her time in law school, she served as a student attorney with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, the oldest student-run legal services organization in the country. As a student attorney and co-head of the family law practice, she litigated divorce and child custody disputes, and sought Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for unaccompanied minors who had been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected in their home countries.
Donna is an active member of the California State Bar. Upon graduation from Harvard, Donna joined Jones Day as a litigator in the firm's employment group and subsequently clerked for the Honorable Fernando M. Olguin in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She now works as an associate at Cooley, where she counsels clients on their employment policies and practices, and litigates employment disputes. She maintains an active pro bono practice, representing survivors of human trafficking and intimate partner violence in their petitions to have their criminal convictions vacated.
Donna has been featured in The Washington Post, the Daily Journal, and Above the Law for her work on race and class disparities in attorney licensure. In her free time, Donna enjoys running, reading, and exploring new restaurants in Los Angeles.
