Data Points Lecture: Speaker Pam Dixon
Achieving Ethical AI: The Governance Puzzle
Using global case studies, this talk will explore AI governance tools, what they are in practice, and how they are reshaping complex ecosystems such as business, education, medicine, and finance. It will explain how the very AI governance tools meant to ensure fairness, privacy, safety, and trustworthiness in AI systems can, if not properly evaluated, introduce new risks or create a false sense of confidence. Attendees will gain valuable insight into AI governance tools and how they are being implemented today, the challenges of governing the tools themselves effectively, and the pathways forward for building trustworthy AI governance tools and AI ecosystems.
