Colleen Garrity Settineri, B.S.B.A., J.D.

Colleen Garrity Settineri is a Clinical Professor of Law at Moritz. She leads the College’s Appellate Advocacy program, teaches Legal Analysis and Writing II, and developed and teaches MSL Legal Research and Writing. Additionally, she serves as the faculty advisor for the Student Bar Association and the Women's Legal Society. Professor Settineri previously taught Appellate Advocacy as an adjunct professor for nine years and Legal Analysis and Writing I and II as a Visiting Assistant Professor for one year.  

Professor Settineri clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer of the Ohio Supreme Court and for the Honorable James L. Graham of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.  She has also served both corporate and individual clients in private practice.  As an associate at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, LLP, Professor Settineri focused on business litigation and appeals.  As an associate at a small Ohio firm, Professor Settineri appeared on behalf of and counseled the firm’s individual clients on family law matters.  

An alumna of Moritz, Professor Settineri is a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio Style Manual Committee and the Publications Committee for the Association of Legal Writing Directors. She is also a volunteer appellate attorney with the Legal Aid Unemployment Compensation Appeals Project.
