Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies
No single perspective is adequate for understanding the complex and addressing the complex challenges facing today’s world.
That is why the Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies is committed to promoting interdisciplinary research, teaching, and public outreach focused on how the law can play a constructive role in society and culture. CILPS brings together legal scholars with scholars from the social sciences, humanities, and a range of disciplines to collaboratively provide analysis of issues and, in time, solutions.
Students at the Moritz College of Law often engage with CILPS through events sponsored at the college regularly. Students also may be hired as research assistants – meaning they work directly with law professors on pertinent legal research.
Through these means and more, CILPS supports students on their own journey by helping them understand the interplay between the law and their own areas of expertise, developed through undergraduate studies or in careers prior to law school.
