Moritz moot court teams compete at prestigious national competitions

February 8, 2017 | Students

Congratulations to the Moritz College of Law moot court teams who recently competed in two of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the country – the National Moot Court Competition in New York City and the Andrews Kurth Kenyon Moot Court Championships in Houston. Both teams delivered outstanding performances, according to their coaches.

The 3L team of Arlene Boruchowitz, Sara Coulter, and Audry Klossner were named runners-up in the National Moot Court Competition. Approximately 185 teams from 120 law schools competed across 14 regions, and the top 28 teams met in New York for a battle of the best-of-the-best. In addition to being named the runners-up of the entire competition, the team also took home the Honorable Mention Best Brief award as well.

While they were in New York, the 3L team of Shalini Goyal, Michael Mayer, and Chelsea Weaver traveled to Texas as one of just 16 teams invited to compete at the Andrews Kurth Kenyon Moot Court Championships. They won three out of their four oral argument rounds in the preliminary stages.

The teams and their coaches would like to thank everyone who played a hand in their success, including the faculty, staff, and alumni who helped moot the teams prior to the competitions.
