November 18, 2013 | Students

A team from the Moritz College of Law placed in the inaugural Ohio Attorney General’s Public Service Mock Trial Competition, which was held Nov. 2-3 at the Franklin County Courthouse.

The team – comprised of 3Ls Gus Lazares, Natalie McGee, Paul F. Rogers, Alana Valle, and Kathryn S. Wallrabenstein and 2L Madalyn Fairbanks – was coached by a group of experienced litigators from the offices of the Attorney General and the Columbus City Attorney.

The team won both of their preliminary rounds and narrowly missed making the final round on points. Lazares and Wallrabenstein were named “Best Attorney” in both rounds for defense and prosecution, respectively. Wallrabenstein also took the “Best Witness” award in the first round, and Fairbanks was the “Best Witness” in the second round.
