Moritz duo places second in KMK Diversity Case Competition

March 9, 2020 | Students

Eight 1L students participated in the 2020 KMK Diversity Case Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio with a pair of them placing in the top-3.

One year after Moritz students Zeynep Kart, Thomas Pope and Keri Richardson finished third in the competition, the team of Shayla Kendricks and Pierre Collins placed second in 2020. The competition is held strictly for 1L students with eight different schools competing.

“The KMK Diversity Case Competition was a great opportunity for students of color to network with attorneys and work through a real-world transactional problem with guidance and feedback,” Kendricks said. “It was incredibly fun and a welcomed change of pace from casebooks and lectures. It showed me how interesting practicing law can be.”

Other Moritz participants in the competition included the teams of Rebecca Joseph and Candace Milner; Izzy Marcelletti and Komal Hans; John Lee and Rafael Navarettte.
