2Ls Caroline Carroll, Anna Bulkowski earn Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowships
Moritz 2Ls Caroline Carroll and Anna Bulkowski were recently selected as Foreign Language and Area Studies fellows for the 2020-21 academic year.
Academic year FLAS Fellowships are awarded to undergraduate, graduate, or professional students who are enrolled in a course of study at Ohio State that requires both language and area studies expertise. Students are required to take one language and one area studies course in both autumn and spring semesters, completing one academic year language sequence. The fellowship provides a stipend of $15,000 and tuition support up to $18,000 for graduate and professional students.
Carroll studies Advanced Japanese and completed the one-year Short-Term Exchange Program at Hokkaido University as an undergraduate student. She received her Bachelors of Applied Science Degree from Ohio State in 2019.
Bulkowski completed a number of courses at Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in 2017 and studies Elementary Portuguese. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Spanish from Michigan State University in 2019.
