2018 Moritz graduate Abby Chin wins CPR award for best original student article
Abby Chin ’18 was named the Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR) Joseph T. McLaughlin Original Student Article Award winner for her article, “Streamlining Doping Disputes at the Olympics: World Sports Organizations, Positive Drug Tests, & Consistent Repercussions,” published in the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution (2018).
The award, which is endowed through 2021, “recognizes an article or paper written by a student that was focused on events or issues in the field of ADR.”
Chin, a former member of the women’s swim team at the University of Louisville, is now an Associate Attorney at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP in Columbus. She was also a part of multiple moot court teams while at Ohio State from 2015-18.
The Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution (2018) also published one of two winners in the Outstanding Professional Articles category, as Ayelet Sela’s article, “Can Computers Be Fair? How Automated and Human-Powered Online Dispute Resolution Affect Procedural Justice in Mediation and Arbitration,” was recognized by CPR as well. Sela is an assistant professor at Bar Ilan University Faculty of Law.
