Witness list revealed in Husel murder case

December 12, 2019 | Media News

Professor Ric Simmons was recently interviewed by the local NBC4 station after it was revealed that 25 people were on the witness list in the Dr. William Husel murder case.

Husel, who formerly worked for the Mount Carmel Health System, faces 25 counts of murder for allegedly ordering fatal doses of pain medication for patients.

A witness list of 25 people however, is an abnormally large number, Simmons told NBC4.

“The witness list is supposed to be people you’re going to call at trial,” Simmons explained. “These people obviously can’t be called at trial. They might have statements that are going to be used, but generally you don’t put people on the witness list just because you’re going to use their statements at trial.”
