Former FDA leaders decry emergency authorization of malaria drugs for coronavirus

Assistant Professor Patricia Zettler was recently featured in a Science Magazine article titled, “Former FDA leaders decry emergency authorization of malaria drugs for coronavirus.”

The former FDA associate chief counsel under President Obama, Zettler said, “The idea that we have nothing to lose by trying anything with the smallest glimmer of hope is terribly misguided. As a society, we risk losing the opportunity to understand what actually works, and what doesn’t.”
