Associate Professor Patricia Zettler quoted in CBS News article discussing President Trump potentially pushing through a COVID-19 vaccine before Election Day
Associate Professor Patricia Zettler was recently quoted in an article by CBS News article titled, “Could Trump push a vaccine through before election day?”
An expert in the regulation of medicine, drugs and other medical products, Zettler was the associate chief counsel in the FDA’s Office of the Chief Counsel prior to becoming an educator.
An Emergency Use Authorization “can be issued for drugs and vaccines,” Zettler said. “The standards are much lower than for a full FDA approval. “It’s useful to think about EUAs as providing temporary authorization for promising but unproven treatments.”
