Davies is Recipient of 2015 YWCA Women of Achievement Award
Sharon L. Davies, the Gregory H. Williams Chair in Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and Director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, is the recipient of a 2015 YWCA Women of Achievement Award, which was established three decades ago to honor female leaders in central Ohio.
According to an article in the Columbus Dispatch, “Davies does the kind of research that people such as Valerie Lee respect. ‘She does a lot of visual mapping that helps us see more clearly the disparities in infant mortality and education and housing,’ said Lee, vice president for Outreach and Engagement at Ohio State University.”
She will receive her award at an event on April 1, 2015, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
