Kaminski and 40 law professors write letter to Gov. Brown

September 9, 2014 | Faculty

Assistant Professor of Law Margot E. Kaminski, one of the country’s rising experts on law and technology, along with Professor Elizabeth Joh of U.C. Davis School of Law, led an effort among more than 40 law professors to write California Governor Jerry Brown and urge him to sign AB 1327. Authored by Assemblyman Jeff Gorell (R-Camarillo), Assemblyman Steven Bradford (D-Gardena), and Assemblyman Bill Quirk (D-Hayward), AB 1327 establishes statewide policies to protect against intrusive use of drones by law enforcement and other government agencies. Distinguished University Professor and the Frank R. Strong Chair in Law Joshua Dressler also signed the letter, which was sent to the governor on September 4.
