Katherine Kelly, Chris Walker earn promotions
Dean Alan Michaels announced Thursday that both Christopher J. Walker and Katherine Silver Kelly were promoted to Professor of Law and Clinical Professor of Law respectively, effective May 30, 2019. Walker, who joined the Moritz faculty in 2013, was promoted from his previous title of Associate Professor of Law (with tenure). Kelly, who started at Moritz a year earlier in 2012, was promoted from her previous title of Associate Clinical Professor of Law.
Kelly is a member of the Bar Advocacy Committee of the Association of Academic Support Educators and a regular blogger at the Law School Academic Support blog. Her areas of expertise include the bar examination and legal writing and research. She teaches Legal Analysis and Writing (LAW) I and II and is the director of the Academic Support Program where she is responsible for Moritz’s bar exam support services. She also coaches the Child Welfare and Adoption Law moot court competition team.
Walker’s research focuses primarily on administrative law and law and policy at the agency level. In addition to teaching a variety of courses such as Civil Procedure, Constitutional Litigation and the Ethics of Washington Lawyering, Walker is the director of the Washington D.C. Summer Program, which takes around 20 Moritz students to the capital each summer to participate in substantive externships.
