Associate Professors Micah Berman and Patricia Zettler publish op-ed in Ohio Journal of Public Health
Associate Professors Micah Berman and Patricia Zettler, alongside the OSU-James Comprehensive Cancer Center, recently published an op-ed in the Ohio Journal of Public Health titled, “Law and Ethics During a Public Health Crisis.”
“In our view, effectively advocating for public health requires meaningful training in public health law and ethics. Put simply, one’s ability to advance population health outcomes will be limited without an understanding of the frameworks in which public health policy is made,” they wrote. “The COVID-19 pandemic forced schools of public health across the country to quickly rework how they edu- cate their students. We urge them to also take the opportunity to rethink what is being taught.”
Professor Berman holds a joint appointment with Moritz and the College of Public Health while Zettler holds a joint appointment with Moritz and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
