Race Judicata to benefit Grassbaugh Veterans Project

September 6, 2013 | Events

The Columbus and Ohio State legal community are coming together to raise money for the Capt. Jonathan D. Grassbaugh Veterans Project during a 5k run/walk slated for Sept. 26 at Fred Beekman Park.

The annual Race Judicata, presented by the Student Bar Association at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, is a community service event that brings together law students and members of the Columbus legal community for a day of service. The registration fee for Race Judicata is $20, with all proceeds this year benefiting the Grassbaugh Veterans Project.

The student-created project provides legal assistance to U.S. military veterans, who often return home to face debt crises, landlord-tenant issues, foreclosure, and disability claims issues. Moritz students and attorney supervisors work with veterans to provide free legal support. Organizers are working to raise $250,000 to maintain efforts.
