Dear Moritz community,

As we conclude our first week of classes, I would like to take a moment to pause and welcome you to the 2020-21 academic year at the Moritz College of Law. Whether you’re returning to campus or starting new, we could not be more excited to be embarking on this new year with you.

Although the pandemic is changing how we socialize with one another, we are committed to providing you with a meaningful learning experience—in Drinko Hall, the other buildings on campus we are now utilizing, and online.

The College of Law staff and faculty spent the entire summer preparing for your arrival. Now that the school year has begun, we continue our important tradition of developing the next generation of lawyers and leaders.

As the caretakers of the College’s legacy, the work we are doing to advance our mission is critical. It is through this work that our College, so importantly, serves our state, advances justice and the rule of law in our society, and impacts the world.

Over the last several months, I’ve seen this in action in our own law school community. We support one another. We listen to each other. And we always help our fellow Moritzers, lifting each other higher. It’s an honor to be able to be part of something so special. I can say without a doubt that you will find the power of our community is both magnetic and real.

People are at the heart of Ohio State. We are dedicated to your safety, health, and well-being. Without you, Ohio State could not fulfill its critical purpose: championing people and their potential for the good of society.

I encourage you to get to know your fellow Moritzers and take advantage of all the opportunities you discover. This will be a memorable year, and I thank you for letting us be a part of your special journey.

I wish everyone at the College of Law a safe and successful school year.

Go Bucks!
