Renovated Saxbe Auditorium opens with multiple donors, alumni in attendance

Saxbe Auditorium at Drinko Hall reopened on Nov. 22 after more than six months of renovation work. Dean Lincoln Davies and a number of donors served as the official ribbon cutters to usher in the new facility.

Thanks to the donations from alumni, nearby firms and others, Saxbe Auditorium now features a plethora of new amenities that will provide students, faculty and staff with a space to grow both academically and professionally. Some of those amenities include:

• Increased seating capacity
• Enhanced Accessibility
      • Assisted Listening Devices
      • Ramp to access the Gretchen & Gregg Levy        Family Stage
      • Multiple handicap accessible seating
• Enhanced Technology
      • Sixteen 50-inch digital television displays
      • New audio system
      • Nine new speakers
• Updated HVAC system
• New lighting system

Alumni in attendance to help dedicate Saxbe Auditorium included Erin Moriarty (’77) and Rob Bilott (’90). Moriarty, an Emmy award-winning journalist, interviewed Bilott on the Gretchen & Gregg Levy Family Stage about the upcoming movie Dark Waters, which features Mark Ruffalo as Bilott taking on the DuPont chemical company.
