Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich has appointed Peter J. Stautberg ‘93 to serve on the First District Court of Appeals. Stautberg replaces Judge Patrick T. Dinkelacker, who was elected to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, in November.

Stautberg will assume office on April 20, 2015, and must run for re-election in November 2016 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends on Feb. 9, 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Stautberg served as in-house legal counsel and vice president for Fifth Third Bank. Before that he worked as an associate with Lindhorst and Dreidame and Keating, Muething and Klekamp. Stautberg also served as a state representative for the 34th and 27th Ohio House Districts during the 128th General Assembly, 129th General Assembly, and 130th General Assembly. During his service, he was a ranking member of the Housing and Urban Revitalization Committee, chair of the Ways and Means Committee, and chair of the Public Utilities Committee.
