Moritz Alum Mónica Ramírez gives TED talk titled “Passing the mic to migrant farm workers”

Moritz College of Law alum Mónica Ramírez (’03) recently presented at “TED Salon: Belonging,” giving a speech titled, “Passing the mic to migrant farm workers.”

In the speech, Ramírez “points out the injustices this often unseen and isolated group faces — from wage theft and sexual harassment to dangerous working conditions — and advocates for the solutions they need.”

The daughter of migrant farmers, Ramírez has long been an advocate for migrant farmer and women’s rights. She has been featured on NBC’s Today Show and also delivered the keynote address at the United Nation’s 2018 International Women’s Day celebration non rural women’s activism.
