Moritz alum Kenneth Zak (’87) strikes racist covenant from house deed as part of centennial
Moritz alum Kenneth Zak (’87) and his wife Kyona recently discovered a racist covenant as part of their house’s deed and instead of letting it rest, they immediately took action.
Zak, an award-winning author, recently detailed the experience in the San Diego Uptown News.
“We had already spent a lot of time and effort preserving the structure and appearance of our home for its centennial,” he wrote. “But forever purging the racist restrictive covenant language from its title felt even better.”
